Description
The anthology of poetry which we present here to readers of English bears witness to the enduring cultural community that has existed between Ukraine and Poland for centuries and which now has the occasion to grow even stronger. The book contains poetry from men and women of different generations and poetics. It is not an anthology of war poetry, although verse documenting the tragedy of Ukraine and her heroic defense occupy a special place within it. Different poetic idioms, creative personalities, life experiences, and perspectives on literature meet in this work to create a rich and many-colored picture of a literary world caught in the midst of some of the most important political events of our time.
